Robin Hood

"There is no difference between a knight and any other man aside from what he wears." -Robin Hood, We believe Robin Hood wanted everyone to have a fair and equal chance, and that it's about the person underneath the clothes and armor that matters, Robin Hood makes people look back and take a look at themselves, and their hearts. So we rate this movie a 4 out of five because we didn't exactly like the beggining of the movie but once it really got going we liked the overall plot.

In the 13th century of England, Robin and his  men confront corruption in a village and lead an uprising against the crown that will always now on alter the balance of world power, during that time that is. We loved all the action in this flim and that it gave us a great look on how they used to fight in our past history. The Director was: Ridley ScottWriters were: Brian Helgeland (screenplay), Brian Helgeland (story) Some of the cast were:
The Genre of this movie were Action, Adventure and Drama and if you even watch the movie they are displayed were well!

The cast was:

Russell Crowe ...
Cate Blanchett ...
Max von Sydow ...
William Hurt ...
Mark Strong ...
Oscar Isaac ...
Danny Huston ...
Eileen Atkins ...
Mark Addy ...

Long live the king! When King Richard The Lionheart died was the rising action for us because it desplayed how things would ever much start to change, especially when a new, younger king taking over! The Climax to us was when robin and the new king pretty much joined together and helped the village, it made us realize how they had to work together to make things go smoothly. Then theres the falling action, to us that was when they were all fighting on the huge beach, known as North Yorkshire Coast. Although there was so much action to pick from those are some of which that stood out to us.

When Robin Hoods girl, Mariron Loxley was fighing  the man who killed the blind man (which to us was unbelievable that someone would do such a thing) was very outstanding to us that she would take on such a duty, it scared us when she almost died, but Robin came and saved her! One symbols to that really stood out was that King Richard was a good king and rode a white horse.

Maid Marian: "This means I must make a wish. I wish against wish, I hope against hope, that the heavens bring me a kind and wonderful gentleman who possesses the key to my...heart" We really liked the fact that Robin and Marian were together, and that later on when they were sent away from the village that they had there own little town that didn't have rules and was very laid back, it really makes you wonder what it would be like if our towns and cities where like that.

"There is no difference between a knight and any other man aside from what he wears." -Robin Hood, We believe Robin Hood wanted everyone to have a fair and equal chance, and that it's about the person underneath the clothes and armor, that matters, Robin Hood makes people look back and take a look at themselves, and their hearts. We liked this movie and and all the action, would someday think about watching it again.

Taken

Seventeen year-old Kim is everything to her father, Bryan Mills. Bryan is a retired agent who left the Central Intelligence Agency to be near his daughter Kim  in California. Kim lives with her mother Lenore and her rich stepfather Stuart. Kim gets her strict yet aware father to allow her to go to Paris with her friend Amanda. Bryan was totally against her going. She had to lie to him that she was going to go look at art when she was there. She was actually going to follow her favoite band, but she managed to do it.

When the girls arrive in Paris they allow this guy named Peter take a picture of them. They also share a cab with the stranger,  Peter.  Amanda lets it slip that they will be alone in Paris. With this information an Albanian gang of human traffickers kidnaps the girls. While she sees her friend Amanda get taken, Kim barely has time to her father and give him the information. Her father got to speak to one of the kidnappers for a little bit  and he promises to kill the kidnappers if they do not let his daughter go free. The kidnapper wishes him "good luck,"  so Bryan Mills travels to Paris to search for his daughter and her friend. He uses his intellegence and his CIA skills to find his daughter, although some say may think he had superpowers, we think it was a mixture of both! We give this movie a 5 out of 5. It had a good story line and we really liked all the action, we also think the genre of this movie is suspense and action!
The Director was: Pierre Morel Writers: Luc Besson, Robert Mark Kamen, and we think they did a great job!

Cast:

Liam Neeson ...
Maggie Grace ...
Leland Orser ...
Jon Gries ...
David Warshofsky ...
Holly Valance ...
Katie Cassidy ...
Xander Berkeley ...
Olivier Rabourdin ...
Gérard Watkins ...
Famke Janssen ...
Marc Amyot ...
Arben Bajraktaraj ...
Radivoje Bukvic ...
Anton (as Rasha Bukvic)
Mathieu Busson ...

Therisingaction of this movie is when the girls get kidnapped. Once Bryan got off the phone with his daughter he was on his way to Paris. He recorded the conversation. When he got to the place where they were staying he walked around tying to find where the girls got taken. The climax of this movie was when he was killing everyone and finding all the clues to get his daughter. He killed alot of people and did what ever he could to find her. He played alot of mindless tricks on the bad guys so they couldnt find him. The failng action was when he found his daughter and went on the ship to get her. He killed most of the people on that ship. When he got to the room that she was in, a big guy had a knife to her throat. Bryan killed him and saved his daughter. She said. "you came for me."

The ending of this movie was very predictable. We figured that the girl was going to be safe. All in all we really liked this movie and we gave it a 5 out of 5. We really thought it was a good movie and very intertaining.  It also gave us a different outlook towards the world and made us aware. When you think about the situations that brain was in and his training and killing/hurting of all the people do you think what was virtuous? or was he just getting what he wanted? Now ask yourself what is virture?

V for Vendetta

"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."-V Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the people around you came together to stand up for something they beleive in? Would there be chaos? Death of loved ones? Or simply just a stop to it? Whatever it is and whereever it is, in school, work or life in general V believed you needed to come together, have a stonger meaning behind it and have hope. We rated this movie a 5 out of 5 because it showed us different views and it was meaningful.

V for Vendetta The genre for this movie was drama and it was definitely. It was so exciting to watch that you never even wanted to stop! There were many Symbols in this movie; such the numbering and his name beingV meaning 5 for the 5th of November. We think the rose was also a symbol because of blood or because V was so touched by the two girls love, both of which have died. When V  played beethoven the fifth was also a huge symbol that goes about with the plot. The director was James McTeigue Writers: Andy Wachowski (screenplay), Lana Wachowski (screenplay).
Natalie Portman ...
Hugo Weaving ...
V
Stephen Rea ...
Stephen Fry ...
John Hurt ...
Tim Pigott-Smith ...
Rupert Graves ...
Roger Allam ...

The story starts off  with a freedom fighter known only as "V"  who uses terrorist ways to fight against his totalitarian society. When he saves a girl from the secret police although he falls in love with this women, evey and goes to continue on with his plans.

First V blows up the Old Bailey building which for us was the Rising action, although it was difficult to pick this because this movie was action filled, we loved the way they used the music to go along with the explosions. V 's main mission was to blow up the Paralment to show England that they need to come together and need hope, not just a building. This reason made V have many followers, and having Evey made everything come together.

The Climax was when everyone was scared and wondering if this would really happen. V had got everyone exactly where he wanted them. He made made the city go insane, with the murders he had along with mystery of who is was made the people pick a side. If they would go with the government or stick up for what they believe in. This made us wonder, what's next?

"My turn"-V When everything was coming to an end V put up a huge fight until of which became the end of him.  For us, we both agree the falling action was when V came back to where Evey was and died, but the plan still followed through by Evey. This happened by a Subway being full of expolsives which was going to go through and from underneath to blow up the Paraliment making an incredible Bang! and fireworks making it a great show for the City. V was laid inside the subway with roses next to him, with Evey pulling the triger he would be sent off to be part of the show.

Evey: "We are told to remember the idea, not the man. Because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten. But 400 years later an idea can still change the world." We really like this quote because it is true, and it tells us that V is just human and still has problems just like the rest of us. We both really loved also when Evey Said:"He was Edmond Dantes. And he was my father and my mother... my brother... my friend. He was you... and me. He was all of us." Because that again just shows us that he is true and although he may not be virtuous because all the killing he has done and the way he went about things he's still just a person.

"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."-Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the people around you came together to stand up for something they beleive in? Would there be chaos? Death of loved ones? Or simply just a stop to it? Whatever it is and whereever it is, in school, work or life in general believed you needed to come together, have a stonger meaning behind it and have hope. Now ask yourself...are you standing up for what you believe in?

Slumdog Millionaire

"Money and women. The reasons for making most mistakes in life. Looks like you've mixed up both" Police officer. Although Jamal one of the lead actor ends up getting both to make him secure and happy, the money and the girl. Throughout Slumdog Millionaire there were hard times, good times, and lots of great points. We especially were found of the way that the good honest guy in the movie ended up with the better life. We rated this movie 4 stars out of 5 because of its great storyline and views.

The Directors were : Danny Boyle, Loveleen Tandan and the Writers were Simon Beaufoy (screenplay), Vikas Swarup (novel)

Dev Patel ...
Saurabh Shukla ...
Anil Kapoor ...
Rajendranath Zutshi ...
Director (as Raj Zutshi)
Jeneva Talwar ...
Freida Pinto ...
Irrfan Khan ...
According to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1010048/

The Genre of this movie was Drama and Romance, which really was showed throughout the movie. For an expample when the village got invaded and along side that when Jamal's love never died out for Latika. This movie is about an 18-year old boy, orphan, from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to a great chance to change in life. With the everyone going crazy and watching him, he is just one question away from winning 20 million rupees on India's Kaun Banega Crorepati or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire! But he is suspected for cheating and gets treated horribly and to prove he isn't he tells them his story, his past and his memories about his childhood and the hardships and great times he has had with his brother and Latika.

It is hard for us to pick a rising action. Why? Because throughout the movie there where so many events that could be the rising action. Jamal experieced a lot of difficult hardships. After getting called a cheater for knowing answers that some street kid should know. We also think the rising action could be when the host of India's Kaun Banega Crorepati (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire) writes a wrong answer on the mirror of the bathroom so Jamal can be done. Jamal was smarter than the host that he was and Jamal did not us that answer that was given. Also we thought that when Jamal's brother kicked him out of the hotel room was another rising action. They were so many examples and hardships that led to the climax.

Jamal is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees. After hearing that final question we both decided that it was the climax of the movie. Jamal was stumped after hearin the last question. The last question was a name of one of the 3 Muskateers. Flash backs showed that Salim, Latika, and Jamal were reading a book about that. Still not knowing the answer he decided to use one of his lifelines and called his brother, Salim. Little did Jamal know that his brother gave Latika his phone to go to Jamal. When Latika heard that Jamal was calling his brother, she realized that she had the phone and she raced back to the car to answer it. Jamal was so surprized when she answerd it. Latika did not know the question though. After talking to her he simply remember the answer and won the 20 million rupees!

After winning the 20 million rupees Jamal headed towards the train station and there he saw that Latika was waiting for him. Jamal repeatedly stateted  that it was there "destiny" to be together. Even though it was the end of the movie it was the falling action.

"Doctors.. Lawyers... never get past 60 thousand rupees. He's won 10 million. What can a slumdog possibly know?- Police Inspector. This quote is simply saying if you had nothing you know know nothing. It proves that just because you grew up somewhere where there is less money, its dirty, viloence, drugs, all around not a good place you will get no where in life. This movie really proved to us that if you come from slums, hood, not a good place you can still have a chance in things that doctors, wealthy, educated people know. Slumdog Millionaire was a fantastic movie and the director did a great job getting his message out. So dont think that just because you weren't born into money or grew up in the slums, that you cant pull through and do something big in your life.
